Tick-tock, tick-tock...
Happy September, dear readers! Time keeps on slipping into the future, right? Before you know it, Americans will be facing another presidential election and all of the ensuing political drama. This week, we talk with author Kaitlyn Schiess about deepening our historical and Biblical understanding in order to develop a robust political theology before the time comes to mark your ballot in November 2024.
“Do I go to Scripture asking different questions? Do I come with a posture of assuming I will be both comforted and convicted? That I might be critiqued? Do I have myself in the posture to hear that or not?”
Anyone struggling to sit your tush down and just write? Sometimes the weight of the task can feel overwhelming, and that’s when we need to ask for divine help. We’re digging into our archives this week and remembering Grace Chiu’s reflections on writing her dissertation.
“‘Flourish’ isn’t the word that naturally comes to mind when we think about writing a dissertation, but I believe flourishing is possible in and through the Triune God, and in and through his love and wisdom imparted to us through community.”
